Snowmelt 2010

... and it is officially Mud Season here in Wisconsin. We don't have Spring with pretty flowers and clover and robins - we just get eight weeks of fog and muck. Well, that's what it seems like. When I look out the windows, all I can see is brown.

This is the first time I've seen the run without snow. It's located where the geothermal coils were installed. I do think I see a tiny island of pasture grass remaining...

"Please let me in! I'll wipe my feet!" says Boris.

At least Otter is already brown.

But Miss Molly's sparkling white boots have disappeared!

Molly actually hates stepping in anything oozy. She misses her very active exercise sessions, and instead tiptoes out and perches on the lone snowbank that remains. By the look on her face, I think Mud Season is making her a little bit crazy as well...

We all can't wait for May. In the meantime, I'm pretending I live in a sod house with a dirt floor out on the prairie. And washing lots of loads of old towels.

Poor Boris! Give him a hug for me. Don't fall for that pleading look, though - he does not believe in wiping his feet, ever. LOL

Poor babies.... My yard and pasture is the same way.. Yuck.... I have to wear my barn boots to my car and to work as I hate getting my good shoes a mess. My daughters tell me that my boots are disgusting.. I said would you rather see me with it all over my shoes???? kids these days... Oh well. Spring and green grass will be here soon...And I for one can't wait!... have a great weekend...

You are lucky to have progressed so far into the spring as to mud season! :) We are still knee deep in snow. I am hoping for the sight of ground by May. Oslo doesn't seem to have a mudseason, it is usually winter for most of the year and then dramatically and quickly it is summer (for a few brief weeks.) In Maine where I come from we had a long mud season. I actually miss that a bit. Your poor dear animals. Take care and surely the mud will give way to beautiful greens and blossoms soon.

hilarous. I'm with molly though - hate the ooze. Maybe with some doggie boots?

I can relate to the muddy floors!

Even though it's been nice here lately (southern california), we had some great mud in the backyard during the rains.

Ah yes Spring and as you say fog and mud. I will admit we had a few days of sun, I did not know how to behave!
There is actually a bit of green in the grass and since we sit on a bit of a rise we are drying out a bit!!
I am working on getting things planted in basement so when the good weather arrives I will be ready!!
Hope you are enjoying your new house, pictures look awsome! Thank you again for all your help.
